I am the former Editor of Chambers Latin America. I oversaw and was ultimately responsible for four editions of the guide during my six years at the company. I also compiled the shortlists, decided on the winners and hosted four annual Awards' ceremonies, as well as designed and delivered seminars on best research practice.
During my tenure, the guide and the department grew in size. I added several new practice areas and made structural adjustments to others in an array of jurisdictions. Considerable improvements were also made to the methodology as well as internal training sessions and the support offered to researchers. All of which resulted in a more rigorous and compelling research product.
My area of expertise is Latin America and I am passionate about helping Latin American firms advance their business interests. I speak Spanish fluently, hold an MSc in Latin American Politics and have had the good fortune to have spent a considerable amount of time in the region. As Editor, I visited several countries, meeting key stakeholders in the respective legal markets.
A common misconception is that the rankings and research processes are identical across different guides. In reality, there are important differences which impacts how research is carried out and rankings are awarded. Furthermore, research processes are not static, on the contrary, they are constantly evolving and becoming more competitive. To obtain the best possible rankings, it is imperative that law firms understand the nuances and the changing dynamics.
I offer Latin American firms, including Brazilian, an unmatched insight to help optimise their rankings in the leading legal directories.
